A week ago, I attended the Impacta Festival and had the chance to listen to Jorge Martínez — the creative mind behind one of Spain’s most iconic social campaigns, “Pills Against Others’ Pain.”

It was a campaign that invited people to buy a small box of “medicine” — not for themselves, but to help those suffering from neglected diseases around the world.
More than half of Spain still remembers it today. (The rest probably grew up on TikTok. 😅)

Jorge shared some numbers that really struck me:

• 40% of people in Spain contribute to social causes.
• 89% of those who remember that campaign say they’d do it again.

It reminded me that we truly are a generous society — we just need a reason, a story that moves us to act.
